Photography is an artist of exploration, experimentation and discovery of technique. Photography may be a science of capturing a moment in time and preserving it for future eyes to see. Photography may also be a tool to capture the details we miss in that moment. As photographers we see the world in a perspective of capturing a moment in time and to our choosing manipulate what we want you to see or want we do not want you to see.

Personally it is hard for me to start a conversation with somebody I do or do not know and personally I found it difficult to make friends as a young child. When I started photography I had to overcome that problem with asking people to be photographed. Labeling myself as a photographer opened new doors for me not only to having a social life or making friends I also kept it up to my challenge of photographing people.

As a photographer I find it interesting to see how we can manipulate people in front of the camera to do almost anything to get the "perfect" shot. What is more interesting is that the subjects are willing to do so.

Margin of Error's album "Destory Create Repeat" are the words I live by in my destroyed negatives. Negatives are the physical evidence of history and time and are precious to artist. When properly archived they are the only physical pieces of history that would last forever (maybe a long time). Manipulating the negative manipulates time and the photograph where it is forever destroyed. It can not be fixed only manipulated more. I find it frustrating with creating the perfect photograph. Out of my frustration without photoshop or digital editing programs I manipulate my negatives in the physical world to bring out to the digital world and beyond.

Digital photography involves a skill of manipulating digital pixels on a screen to emulate what we want on film. Then again on film we scan our images to create the perfect photograph. Everything created today in a photograph is altered digitally where we forget what is original or what is true. A photographic retouch is a manipulation of human perfection.
